Toonies for Tanzania November 27th to December 8th

Please Help Us Help Roda Gidungureda Go To School.

Once again, our Strawberry Vale School Community will be raising money to send our CHES (Canadian Harambee Education Society) student to school. Roda Gidungureda is girl who lives in Tanzania.
In Tanzania, families must pay for their children’s schooling after the first few years. Many families are very poor, and sending their boys to school is seen as a priority. Roda’s parents are much too poor to be able to afford to send her to school.

All of us at Strawberry Vale have the good fortune of living in a country where every child, regardless of gender or financial circumstances, has the opportunity to attend school. We are choosing to remember this privilege, and to contribute towards providing this same opportunity for Roda in Tanzania. Our goal is to raise at least $600.00. (This is the cost of Roda’s tuition for one year. Any amount that we raise above that will be put towards some school supplies.)We are encouraging students to bring a “Toonie For Tanzania” to school sometime between November 27th and December 8th. Families who are able to make contributions of $20.00 or more (and provide their complete mailing address) will receive a tax receipt.

Mrs. Catriona Harker, a former principal at Strawberry Vale School, is our contact person for supporting Roda, our CHES student.

Thank you for helping us help Roda!
