Strawberry Vale Elementary Walk-a-thon Fundraiser

The Strawberry Vale Walk-a-thon Fundraiser is back! This year’s fundraising efforts will go directly to helping the Strawberry Vale PAC fund the initiatives, performances and programs that enrich the experiences of all students at Strawberry Vale.

What is a Walk-a-thon?

The SVE Walk-a-thon is a fundraising event for the whole family. Students raise money by collecting donations or pledges for walking a set course around the school for an hour on the afternoon of Friday, April 24. Parents are asked to help their child approach family members, friends and neighbours to support the school with a donation. Donations can be cash or cheque and can also be made online. Families can share the information and link provided below. Families are welcome and encouraged to join us on Walk-a-thon day to walk the course, help marshal and supervise the students and cheer the students and staff on. How does the Strawberry Vale Walk-a-thon help our students?

The funds raised from the Walk-a-thon are used exclusively in the school by the PAC to enrich the experiences of all students. Every year the PAC funds initiatives like classroom and field trip funding, the seaquarium program, Grade 5 celebration and fun day, in-class presenters, musical and theatrical performances and parent education nights.

Incentives for every student

Raffle draw

For every $10 a student raises and/or for every lap a student completes on Walk-a-thon day they will receive one entry into the raffle draw. For example: a student that raises $100 and completes 4 laps will be entered 14 times into the raffle or if a student raises $0 but completes 2 laps, they will be entered 2 times into the raffle. Every student has an opportunity to enter the raffle draw. The raffle will consist of prizes and passes donated by local businesses.

Pizza Lunch:

Each class that raises more than $500 will receive a free pizza lunch before the end of June.

Further information

Pledge sheets and donations can be collected from April 2 to May 1 and can be returned to school any time between these dates. The raffle draw will take place in late May/early June.
