DESCRIPTION:PAC Movie Night (Grade 3-5) \nOur movie night for grade 3-5 students is happening on Friday\, March 7th!  Doors will open at 6pm.  The movie\, Wild Robot\, will start at 6:30pm.  Come in your comfy pajamas and bring along a pillow and blanket for some cinematic family fun in the gym! \n**Students of all ages are welcome to attend; however\, the movie will be geared towards the grade 3-5 age group.  Parents are responsible for ensuring the suitability of the movie for their own children and their behaviour during the movie. \nThere will be a suggested donation at the door of $2/person or a non-perishable food item.  50% of door sales and the non-perishable food items will be donated to a local charity. \nThere will be a cash only concession with pizza\, popcorn\, chips\, and drinks.  We do encourage families to bring their own water bottles for refilling at the fountain.  Prices for concession are as follows: \n\nPizza Slice $4\nHalf Pizza $15\nWhole Pizza $25\nPopcorn $1\nChips $1\nJuice $1\nWater $1\n\nAs a fun bonus\, find a token in your popcorn and trade that in at the concession for a prize!  Prizes will include Cineplex movie passes\, Flying Squirrel passes\, Saanich RecreationPasses\, Tim Horton’s Gift Cards\, Book Fair Certificates\, and more! \nWe will be looking for volunteers to help before and during the event in order for the movie night to take place.  If you are able to help\, please visit the SignUp Genius link below.   \nhttps://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0948A4AA2EA3FE3-family5#/

DESCRIPTION:April 25\, 2025    1:00 – 2:00 pm \nThe Strawberry Vale Walk-a-thon Fundraiser is back! This year’s fundraising efforts will go directly to helping the Strawberry Vale PAC fund the initiatives\, performances and programs that enrich the experiences of all students at Strawberry Vale. \nWhat is a Walk-a-thon? \nThe SVE Walk-a-thon is a fundraising event for the whole family. Students raise money by collecting donations or pledges for walking a set course around the school for an hour on the afternoon of Friday\, April 25. Students will be bringing home pledge sheets and information today. Parents are asked to help their child approach family members\, friends and neighbours to support the school with a donation. Donations can be cash or cheque and can also be made online. Families can share the information and link provided below.. Families are welcome and encouraged to join us on Walk-a-thon day to walk the course\, help marshall and supervise the students and cheer the students and staff on. If you would like to volunteer to help out on Walk-a-thon day\, please contact the PAC pacsve@gmail.com \nHow does the Strawberry Vale Walk-a-thon help our students? \nThe funds raised from the Walk-a-thon are used exclusively in the school by the PAC to enrich the experiences of all students. Every year the PAC funds initiatives like classroom and field trip funding\, the seaquarium program\, Grade 5 celebration and fun day\, in-class presenters\, musical and theatrical performances and parent education nights. This past year the PAC paid for and installed new bike racks\, benches and a new dock at our pond.

Jennifer is the Director of Education and Advancement with Island Sexual Health where she has had the privilege of facilitating sexual health education for amazing participants from Pre-school to Seniors. She writes for Island Parent and WestCoast Families and has been lucky enough to work in the field of sexual health education for the past 20 years.
